Frequently asked questions.
1. What services do you offer?
We provide a range of accountancy services for small businesses and freelancers, including:
Annual company accounts
Corporation tax returns
Self-assessment tax returns
VAT returns
Payroll
Bookkeeping support
2. Do I need an accountant if I use accounting software?
Accounting software is useful, but it doesn’t replace professional advice. We make sure your accounts are correct, your taxes are optimised, and you're fully compliant — giving you peace of mind and saving you time.
3. How do your fees work?
We offer fixed quarterly or monthly packages with no surprise bills. Fees are reviewed annually in line with inflation (CPI only — no added margins). We’re transparent about costs and always happy to talk through what’s included.
4. I'm just starting out. Can you help?
Absolutely. We work with lots of startups, freelancers, and new business owners. We can help you register your company or as self-employed, set up a bookkeeping system, and make sure you're compliant from day one.
5. What is Making Tax Digital (MTD)?
Making Tax Digital is HMRC's move towards digital-only tax reporting. It’s being rolled out in stages, with some sole traders and landlords affected from April 2026. We’ll guide you through it when the time comes and ensure you're set up with compatible systems.
6. Do you deal with HMRC on my behalf?
Yes, once you’ve appointed us as your agent, we can deal directly with HMRC for most matters — including queries, submissions, and chasing responses. You’ll spend less time on hold, and more time on your business.
7. What are your opening hours?
We're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Outside those hours, feel free to email, WhatsApp or give me a call. I’ll respond as soon as I can.
8. How do I switch from my current accountant?
Switching is simple. Once you let your current accountant know, we’ll handle the rest, including requesting your records and getting you set up.
